Library
The Mahatma Gandhi Institute Library was set up in 1975 as an indispensable partner to support teaching and learning, curriculum development and research at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute. The main objective of the Library is to identify, organize, preserve and provide access to resources and services to satisfy the information needs of academic staff, students and staff of the Institute as well as the public at large.
The MGI Library collection is special and unique in Mauritius in terms of languages and subject areas. In order to provide larger accessibility and to enhance wider dissemination of information, the Library also provides services to the members of the public (above 18) who are interested in the fields of specialization of the Library. In 2014, the MGI Library was established as a Specialized Library of Language and Culture.
